Agreement

Using this site means accepting these terms

These Terms of Service set out the conditions for using Salmainka Road Maps and Navigation Guide UAE (salmainka.it.com). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The guide exists so that drivers in the Emirates can compare navigation apps and understand live traffic, offline maps and the local mobility tools around them. That is a research job, and these terms say plainly what the research is worth and where your own judgment takes over.

Editorial guide

General information and comparison content about navigation tools.

Independent

Not affiliated with any government body, app developer or transport authority.

Not advice

Road signs and local traffic rules always come first.

Chapter one

About this website

This website is an editorial guide covering navigation apps and mobility tools used in the United Arab Emirates. It provides general information and comparison content: how apps differ, what offline maps hold, how live traffic and incidents are described, and how speed limits and routing relate.

The site is not affiliated with any government body, app developer, or transport authority. Names of apps and services appear because they are the tools drivers actually use on Emirates roads, and comparing them is the whole point of the guide. Nothing here is published on behalf of those services, and no app or authority has reviewed or approved this content.

We write for a general driving audience: residents commuting across a city, drivers heading between emirates, and visitors renting a car for a week. If your situation needs official confirmation — a fine, a permit, a closed road, a licensing question — go to the authority that issues it, not to a guide.

Chapter two

Use of the site

You may use this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reading it, printing a page for your own trip planning, or linking to it from your own notes is fine.

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or access it in ways that breach applicable law. Automated scraping of site content without permission is not allowed. That includes bulk copying of pages, harvesting text for republication, and running automated tools that place unusual load on the site.

  • Personal reading, notes and trip planning are welcome.
  • Sharing a link with a friend or a colleague is welcome.
  • Republishing pages or scraping content in bulk is not.
  • Interfering with the site or bypassing its normal use is not.

Chapter three

No professional advice

Content on this site is general information about navigation tools. It is not professional, legal, or safety advice, and it should not be treated as a substitute for road signage, official guidance, or your own judgment while driving.

Always follow current road signs and local traffic rules. If a page describes how a speed limit alert or a reroute behaves, read that as an explanation of the feature, not as an instruction to drive in a particular way. Conditions change hour to hour and street to street.

Set up your route and your phone before you move. Nothing on this site is worth reading at the wheel.

Roads, apps and alerts change faster than any page can. Everything below explains what we check and what we cannot promise.

Chapter four

Accuracy and changes

Navigation tools and road conditions change. We describe documented features and explain trade-offs, but we do not guarantee that any page reflects the current behavior of any app or the current state of any road.

We may update, change, or remove content at any time without notice. That can mean adding a new comparison, correcting a description after an app updates, or retiring a page that no longer reflects how a tool works.

What we do

On this site

Your side

Descriptions of features

Written from documented behaviour and compared side by side.

Check the app itself before you depend on it.

Traffic and roadworks notes

Explanations of how alerts and incidents are reported.

Treat live conditions as live, not as the page says.

Speed limit and routing behaviour

Described as a feature of a tool, with its trade-offs.

Follow the signs posted on the road you are on.

Page freshness

Pages may be rewritten or removed when a tool changes.

If something looks out of date, tell us through the contact page.

Chapter five

Third-party apps and services

This site references third-party applications and services. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or performance. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms.

Names that appear in the guide include the tools drivers in the Emirates most often open on a phone. Each one is someone else's product, updated on someone else's schedule, with its own account rules and privacy practices.

  • 2GIS
  • RTA Smart Drive
  • S'hail
  • Makani
  • Google Maps
  • Waze

Where the guide compares these tools, it compares what is publicly documented about them. If one of them changes, the page may be behind. Check the service itself for anything that affects you directly.

Four things these terms do not do

01

Not an official source

We do not issue, confirm or explain fines, permits or licensing decisions.

02

Not a live feed

Traffic, roadworks and alerts on this site are explanations, not current conditions.

03

Not a driving instruction

Nothing here replaces posted signs or your own reading of the road ahead.

04

Not a purchase

The guide is free to read. Nothing on it is sold, booked or subscribed to here.

Chapter six

Intellectual property

Content on this site, including text and original graphics, is owned by the site operator or used with permission. You may not reproduce it commercially without permission.

Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. When the guide names an app or a service, it does so to describe and compare it. That use does not imply any partnership, sponsorship or endorsement in either direction.

If you want to quote a short passage with a link back to the page it came from, that is usually fine. Republishing a full page, or repackaging the guide's comparisons as your own content, is not.

Chapter seven

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content, including decisions made while driving.

You are responsible for your own driving decisions and for complying with traffic law. If a page tells you how a routing option or a speed limit alert works, that is a description of a tool, not a promise about the road you are on.

Chapter nine

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change affects how you may use the site, it will be written plainly here rather than buried in a footnote.

Chapter ten

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Arab Emirates, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.

If you are reading the guide from outside the Emirates, local rules where you live may still apply to you, and nothing in this section removes protections you are entitled to by law.

Chapter eleven

How to contact us

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page on this website. If you are asking about a specific page, name it in your message so the right part of the guide gets a second look.

Common questions

Questions about these terms

Short answers to what readers ask most about using this guide.

Can I copy a comparison table for my own notes?

For your own trip planning, yes. For publishing it elsewhere or feeding it into another product, no — that is the commercial reproduction the intellectual property section covers.

Does the guide speak for any app or authority?

No. This is an independent editorial guide. Apps, authorities and their names are referenced so drivers can compare them; nothing here is published on their behalf or approved by them.

A page looks out of date. What should I do?

Tell us through the contact page and name the page. Pages get rewritten when a tool changes its behaviour, and a reader note is often the first sign that something needs a second look.

Do these terms affect what data the site collects?

Data handling is set out separately. Read the Privacy Policy for what is collected and why, and the Cookie Policy for what is stored on your device.

What if I do not accept these terms?

Then please do not use the site. The terms exist so the guide's limits are clear before you rely on anything in it, not as a formality after the fact.
